Alpenglow, Solana's next consensus upgrade, is targeting roughly 150ms finality.
For context, Solana's current consensus finality is described by the Solana Foundation as around 12.8 seconds.
That's a major infrastructure change.
The interesting question isn't just:
“What will SOL do?”
It's:
“What becomes possible when the underlying network becomes significantly faster?”
